This is not as uncommon as the reader on Perez' blog makes it seem. It's also not at all common for one person's writing to be heavily influenced by someone whom they communicate with a great deal. I had a friend who I emailed quite regularly and I used to joke about the fact that he would capitalize every single word in a sentence. He Would Make A Sentence Much Like The One I Am Typing Right Now. Fast forward a few months, an I found myself typing in that format at times. Samantha and Lindsay are in constant communication- through text messages and emails when they're not glued to each other's hip. I wouldn't read too much into it.
